James hails from the great city of Austin, Texas. Lovely as the town was, eighteen blistering summers drove him westward where he studied Computer Science at Stanford University.
After graduating with his Bachelor's degree, James spent the next few years working for a number of startups, most notably LETIX. There, he developed software connecting merchants and financial institutions with law enforcement agencies in an effort to combat identity theft and other financial crimes.
It was during this period when James discovered his passion for designing simple and elegant user interfaces. With the web as his vehicle, he honed his craft after-hours and on weekends while conveniently feeding his obsession to primetime television. Northern Attack sprang from these efforts, of which he remains proud to this day for its immortalization in The Office Season Two DVD set (commentary track for The Dundies, 7:02). Fight for Lights and Please Save Chuck would follow.
With a few years of startup experience under his belt, James left LETIX to form Groovy Squared with his college buddy, Keith. Since then, he's worked on UIs for a variety of projects ranging from web-based applications to mobile applications for the iPhone. All share a meticulous attention to detail, aesthetics, and usability.
James consumes vast amounts of pop culture in his spare time, be it television, film, or music. Much of his time from October through June is reserved for his other great passion: the Los Angeles Lakers.
Oh, and he dreams of dachshunds at night.
